Good motel if you need a quick place to crash. The esso/depaneur is right next door! Owner is very nice as well. Plus there's a bar with machines. Would sleep here again if I was stranded in Matagami (again), or was too tired to continue my travels. Wouldn't recommend for families with kids as it has a cigarette smell. Other than that, it's a good motel.
This was an unplanned stop. I arrived quite late in Matagami. Past midnight. This was the only open Motel. The old man at the front dwsk was kind enough to give me a room for the night. Decent rooms, plenty of parking.
The only place in the area that let us (family of 5) book one room for us all - with an extra bed for $20. It saved us $150 for an extra room for our family. The place was clean and comfy.
Old school. Old style motel. Bottle openers on the wall and ashtrays in the room telling you the motel style. Rocking motel. Be ready for cigarette smoke smell everywhere lol.
A reasonable motel - the best lodging per price you'd find in the area. The air conditioner is a bit loud, but otherwise, it is a clean and welcoming place.
It is a very conveniently placed motel, no doubt about that. A little bit on the expensive side, this may just be my opinion. What you get in the room is all pretty reasonable. If you need that extra bit of comfort and can afford it, it's actually worth it!
Good place to stay but I miss the Matagawa inn that burned down!
